Sierra Vista’s Summer Fruit Set Sip and Stroll (2 of 4)
June 12, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Additional Event Information:
Wine tasting through the Vineyard with food pairings at 4 different stations in the Vineyards.
Join us for a fun tasting event with a stroll through our Vineyards!
You will be tasting the wine right by the vines they grow on. We will start in Viognier for the sample 1 then cut down through Cabernet Sauvignon to Roussanne for sample 2, then we’ll loop up the back side of our vineyards to the Merlot at the top of the hill for sample 3, then down to the Grenache for sample 4 and a downhill walk back to the tasting room. The total walk is about 3/4 mile.
$20 Wine Club | $25 Non Wine Club
Our 2019 Viognier opens with nectarine, almond, gravel and floral notes on the nose. A wonderfully full texture on the palate delivers flavors of peach and nectarine, artichoke and agave. A long lingering finish completes this white Rhone varietal.
Paired With: Peaches and Goat Cheese Crostini with Balsamic Glaze and Honey topped with Basil
Barrel Aged Roussanne 2018
A beautiful amber color is the first thing that catches the eye when seeing this wine. Warm aromas of butter, honey, vanilla and over ripe peach entice you into this lesser known Rhone varietal. It is full bodied and rich, with cinnamon and toast notes from the oak aging. The honey notes that Roussanne are known for continue through the palate and into the long finish that leaves you ready for another sip.
Paired With: Asian Slaw with Carrots, Peppers, and Cabbage with slivered Almonds and a Peanut Sauce
Merlot Mountain Ridge Reserve 2018
Over ripe black cherries, cinnamon, vanilla, violets and rosemary are the primary aromas of this beautiful, deep garnet wine. The cherry notes on the palate are more reminiscent of pie cherry than black cherry. The wine is soft with rounded tannins and moderate acidity as Merlot should be.
Paired With: Carnitas Street Taco with a Smoky Adobo Sauce
Ruby colored with great clarity is the start to this stunning wine. The nose is filled with aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, potpourri and a slight cinnamon note. On the palate it reminiscent of raspberry pie with a slight herbaceousness.
Paired With: Chocolate Cherry Brownie with Cinnamon Ganache
